Tamil New year Fest @ HardRockCafe
April 14, 2015, 12:30 a.m.

We were invited to review the ongoing Tamil New year special fest @ HardRock Cafe, Pheonix mall, chennai. Skeptical me stepped into HardRockCafe, wondering what HRC can do for Tamil New year. And we did a double take when we saw the plate that arrived on our table. The creativity in the menu design to suit the cravings of Tamil and English folks left our eyebrows raised.

Veg Platter

 Non Veg Platter

Namma Chennai Mocktail

Veg & Non veg platters are priced at 499 plus taxes. And here is what you will have - 2 bruschettas topped with karaikudi chicken thokku, chicken burger packed with fried onions and topped with idli molaga podi ( gives you the passionate feel of indian pav bhaji with every bite :D ), chicken kothu stuffing in a parota wrap, chicken salna, potato wedges sprinkled with idicha masala ( i.e freshly ground spices ). The veg platter had the same menu with mixed veg & panner instead of chicken. The very first look of the platter made us drool and you can see we have not got too good pictures as we just started digging in very soon. The platter is very much filling and satisfying to taste buds, except for the parota which was bit oily. We conveyed the same to the chef. We also heard from the chef that the American folks are enjoying the menu! Chennai Mocktail, the drink when served with the platter costs you Rs.90/- whereas it's actual cost is Rs. 250/- Former is much better ;)  A totally fusion drink with nannari base. It was more like detox nannari to us ;) With all the cucumber bits and mint inside. Overall, the fest is a masala of masalas :D Burger was the Hero, as expected! A good try indeed!
