Hello, A special post!! My very first post after we have moved to .com :) There are couple of cosmetic changes on the website, Of course it takes time.
This post is specially to those who showed love via mails and msgs about the good word shared with my blog posts.. If at all you wonder what (or rather who) inspired all these beautiful thoughts interwoven with recipes in this blog, I want you all to know this great man whom I always look up to. Some people call him “pastor” , but I choose to call him my dear friend and brother.. Dedicating the recipe of his favorite dish, Mutton Liver Varatiyathu to Jesudian Sylvester :) Wishing him a very very happy birthday :) You can listen to his messages here, Stay blessed :)
Mutton Liver varattiyathu is an exotic dish from kerala. Found this recipe in a Kerala cookery show and fell in love, You will also :) This is such a simple one pot meal recipe. :)
1 kg Mutton Liver
1/2 kg Small Onions chopped
1 tbspn Red chilly powder
1 tbspn Ginger garlic paste
1.5 tspn Saunf powder
3 tspn Pepper powder
1 tspn Turmeric powder
Few curryleaves
Green chilly
3 tbspn coconut Oil or any cooking oil
1. Add Mutton Liver, Small Onions chopped, Red chilly powder, Ginger garlic paste, Saunf powder, Pepper powder, Turmeric powder, few curryleaves in a pressure cooker. Cover the cooker and cook for next 20 mins in medium flame without the weight put on.
2. After 20 mins, Open the cooker. Add oil and salt. Let the curry boil in flame till the water that has oozed out of the liver, evaporates.
3. Switch off the stove when your desired curry consistency is arrived. Varatiyathu is usually dry and the liver turns almost black colour. Enjoy Liver varatiyathu with any Appam :)
